Spanish drama is often popular in Netflix and the initial indication is that Cook of Castamar (known in Spain as La Cocinera de Castamar) has become a hit smash. Will the series come back for season 2 and will come to Netflix? This is what we know so far.
Adapting the novel from Fernando J. Múñez, the Spanish series first debuted at the Premium Ott Atresplayer platform in February 2021 although it was dropped on Netflix in Spain too early in 2021. Joined Netflix elsewhere on the 9th, 2021.
The initial top data shows this series perform well in almost all spanish-speaking areas. It also appeared in the top 10 of the US for two days on Trot. We will update this section after we have a bigger picture of how well the performance in the top 10 after 28 days on service.
This is what you can expect if you haven’t dived at:
“In 1720 Madrid, a talented cook captured the widow’s Duke’s eyes just as he returned to the Aristocratic community. Based on the novel by Fernando J. Múñez.”
Has The Cook of Castamar been renewed for season 2?
Not. Also not expected. According to Bluper Bluper El Espanol (a trustworthy connected entertainment site operating outside Spain), this show was only initially planned to become a season.
They also reported that the show was initially considered falling on his face but surprising the audience and became one of the highly ranked shows in 2021.
With all that said, the decision could be reversed with one Spanish source which implies more than enough material for the second season.
The writer scenario for the event to the prolonged Fuera de Series about where the story can continue next.
Loosely translated, he said: “At some point we will consider losing Castamar, but the house will belong to his family and he will leave income to his mother and brother because he will not leave them stranded.”
However, there is good news. Ten steps from the same author are currently set to get adaptation but it is not clear whether it will be released on Netflix.
Finally, don’t expect you for season 2 of the Castamar chef.
